Solar-powered flight
Very recently, the first solar powered international flight landed safely, taking off from Switzerland and landing in Belgium. It was part of a plan, by Swiss technical institute Solar Impulse, to show that international flying does not necessarily need to be bad for the environment. It used solar panels on its wings to power itself, storing enough energy throughout the day to fly throughout the night. Continue reading
My2050: Educating the public on energy policy
Whatever nonsense Exxon-Mobil-sponsored lackeys might spout on Fox News, the scientific community overwhelmingly agrees that man-made climate change is really happening. If we don’t take the necessary steps to arrest this process, our species may well be doomed. Even amongst the people that accept global warming is happening, there are a variety of arguments about how best to deal with the problem.
