How to Make Under Floor Heating Systems Sustainable

Heat systems are for many the second mortgage which they cannot find the money for, but at the same time they cannot sit in the cold and chill out. Under-floor home heating is the very first step on the ladder to sustainability as it utilizes low grade heating to provide high comfort. Current alternative heat solutions operate efficiently at low flow temperatures and also modern condensing central heating boilers. Continue reading

The Development Of Modern Solar Power Panels

The modern solar panel finds its roots in the first solar collector which was built in 1776 by Horace de Saussare. His collector was cone shaped and would boil ammonia that would then perform like refrigeration and locomotion. This invention went on to inspire the first solar power steam engine in 1861, though short-lived and soon abandoned, the potential of solar power was becoming more and more recognised. Continue reading

A Brief History Of Solar Power

Solar energy has been around since the world began. It has long been recognised as a source of renewable power. Without the sun, no living thing would be able to live on this earth. So powerful was the sun that people in ancient times would worship it. They understood that the sun was vital for their well being. They did not understand why but they still knew of its undeniable importance. Through the millenia that followed we have improved our understanding of the sun. Great scientists such as Copernicus, Galileo and Newton have help broaden our understanding. Continue reading

The Fight For Renewable Power

It is very important that we consider renewable energy as the energy source of the future. The price of fossil fuels will become dearer and its availability will become scarcer. This is for certain. Fossil fuels are finite resources and they will not last forever. Therefore, we need to research and invest in a solution that will last the test of time. This solution must be kind to the environment too or we won’t even have a home to live in. Fossil fuels leave large amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere after burning and this lead to climate change. The sooner we cut our dependency to fossil fuels in favour of renewable sources the better it will be for us and our planet. Continue reading
